This side-gabled Craftsman-style house has a front-gable Craftsman porch. The porch wraps around to an original side wing. Other features are 6-over-1 sash windows, and vinyl siding. Ernest Carlton lived here in the 1930's. He was vice president of Carolina Clothing Company.

Ernest Carlton House. 1-story side-gabled Craftsman-style house with a front-gable Craftsman porch. The porch wraps around to an original side wing. Other features are 6-over-1 sash windows, and vinyl siding. 1930-1940 CDs: Ernest Carlton owner/occupant (v. pres., Carolina Clothing Co.).

This home sits DIRECTLY opposite the main student entrance to the former East Durham Junior High. The view out of the front window of 412 North Driver Street may have looked something like this on a winter day in the 1950s:

And thanks to adaptive reuse, the view from 412 North Driver Street still looks very similar today.
