OpenDurham.org is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of our community. Run by our parent nonprofit, Preservation Durham, the site requires routine maintenance and upgrades. We do not ask for support often (and you can check the box to "hide this message" in the future), but today, we're asking you to chip in with a donation toward annual maintenance of the site. Your support allows us to maintain this valuable resource, expand our archives, and keep the history of Durham accessible to everyone.

The corner of Main and Corcoran was the coldest spot in Durham. And I had forgotten the flower ladies near the "nook". Note hats and gloves on the ladies. Beautiful coat on main figure - oh, the days.

I agree - love the coat and gloves. My older sister always dressed so nicely - she had a gorgeous beige cashmere coat with 3/4 length sleeves and wore elbow length leather gloves with it. I used to borrow it to wear when I got a little older.
