Cozart Street

Cozart Street, known earlier as Cozart Alley and later as Cozart Avenue, is named for Thomas G. Cozart; the street ran along his eastern property line. His house remained standing well into the 1950s, notable for an orientation towards the railroad tracks rather than towards his eponymous street. Cozart was a tobacconist in Durham during the 1880s.
