Brewster Snow built this, Charles Barton Keen, provincial Tudor Revival style house in
1927. The rambling dwelling is faced with rust-cast stucco, applied half-timbering, stained
weatherboards, and tapestry brick. A large exterior chimney constructed of Hillsborough Quarry
stone surmounted by decorative terra cotta chimney pots dominates the entrance facade. The
large mass of the house is broken by shallow gable-roofed wings at various heights and by gable
and hip-roofed dormers. The peaked gables are fanciful features that characterize several
of Hope Valley’s Tudor Revival style houses.
