This was the home of my great-aunts, Myrtle and Julia Albright from 1895 until it was demolished in 1958.  They were raised in the house by their aunts, Ada Albright Smith, Julia K Albright, and Maggie Albright after the death of their father.  Myrtle was the first grade teacher at nearby Fuller School for 40 years.  Julia owned and operated Smith-Albright Company, a millinery store which had been established by her aunts,  located at the corner of Main and Church St.

I remember the intricate parquet floors and the elaborate plaster ceilings in the public rooms.  Huge sliding doors connected the parlor with the reception hall and the dining room.  I still have the big grandfather clock which stood on the first landing of the staircase.

This photo was taken from the south side of the house in the 1920’s, prior to the side entrance being closed and an additional bathroom being added on a section of the porch.
